A main concern of cybersecurity is the protection of companies trade secrets and intellectual properties. The ability for a company to grow and survive is reliant one products and IP generated, if another company steals an IP and produces even a poorly made copy, the company can lose their market and suffer massive losses.

A primary threat to many companies is corporate espionage. A number of chinese hacker groups have been known to conduct systemic theft of IP from US firms. A recent poll found that 1 in 5 companies polled reported an IP theft from a Chinese group in the past decade.
